    The family of HP StorageWorks Enterprise Systems Library (ESL) E-series Tape Libraries offers best-in-class drive and cartridge densities. In a single cabinet, ESL can scale up to 2136 TB of compressed (2:1) storage capacity with a transfer rate of up to 24.2 TB/hr compressed (2:1). The ESL achieves drive densities up to 205 TB of compressed (2:1) storage capacity per square foot. The ESL can be managed as a single library with up to five frames. The ESL delivers superior data availability with protection against SAN event disruptions using the built in HP StorageWorks Extended Tape Library Architecture (ETLA). The ESL delivers a centralized encryption key management solution through Secure Key Manager (SKM) and provides hardware encryption with LTO-5 and LTO-4 Ultrium tape drives. The ESL libraries combined with the ETLA offer customers with enterprise storage area networks (SAN) superior reliability and expandability, ease of use, and simplicity of installation and operation.

    Manageability

    • The ESL library has been designed to ease the management burdens of data protection in your SAN. HP StorageWorks Command View for Tape Libraries Software provides remote management, diagnostics and configuration of all your HP ESL Tape Libraries from across the room or across the globe.


    Scalability

    • Best-in-Class capacity and density. In a single frame the HP StorageWorks ESL E-series Tape Library has the ability to scale from 322 to 712 LTO cartridges and up to 24 Ultrium tape drives. At 205 TB per square foot, the ESL minimizes floor space while maximizing storage capacity.


    Reliability

    • The ESL delivers superior data availability with protection against SAN event disruptions using ETLA. ETLA provides improved backup and restore reliability by intercepting rogue I/O requests from applications or new servers and prevents those requests from interrupting backup or recovery processes.


    Security

    • HP StorageWorks Secure Key Manager (SKM) reduces your risk of a costly data breach and reputation damage. It also improves regulatory compliance with a secure centralized encryption key management solution using HP LTO-5 and LTO-4 Ultrium Tape Drives in the ESL E-series Tape Library.
